I found a site that I didn't see in the Web 2.0 presentation, so perhaps this is will be helpful!
Multiply.com
This site seems to be a great way to share content with classes - Multiply allows uploading of video in various formats for display. Video can be connected from other video sites like YouTube, or Video files can be uploaded in most video formats and the site will display it as an Adobe Flash presentation.
One really cool feature is a video recording feature that will allow you to create a video on the fly, and post it right away to the site! If you wanted to create snipets of information for your students such as a weekly greeting and overview of the week you could do that...or use some other means to record a PowerPoint presentation and upload it to the site.
Once video is uploaded to your site, you can make it available to the students directly on the site of course, or you can choose to copy and paste a URL to email to students, or you can imbed the video into some other website.
I created a site for this class, and have a little video example that I recorded on my tiny netbook computer that has a built in mike and webcam - the audio/video quality is not great, but that is a function of my netbook computer not the website!
Go to my site here and view my video!
