Symbaloo - Caroline Richards

Page history last edited by Caroline Richards 9 mos ago

This isn't exactly Web 2.0 in that it isn't really collaborative, but I thought I'd pass it along in the section with iGoogle on the assumption that anything that keeps the teacher sane is a boon to education!

I work on a variety of computers - my laptops, one of the 20 in the adjunct work area, one of the workstations in the rooms I teach in and one in my office. Needless to say, I can't very well save favorites on each of these machines. With Symbaloo as my start page (officially on my own machines and just where I begin on the others) I have all of my favorites with me all of the time. And it's FREE!

This is my "teaching" page - you might notice some familiar characters in the lower right-hand corner. Directly above Ray is Marc Prensky - someone you should definitely investigate if you aren't familiar with his work.

I use Snag-It to grab the logo of the site and then add the bookmark.

I have numerous pages - money matters - shopping ... In fact, I just started a Photo Tools page with resizr, flickr, etc.

Not only does it keep me organized, but it makes every computer my colorful, cheerful friend!
