I will finally hunker down and explore Second Life. I am very interested in how it might interface with higher education from a virtual learning environment. I feel like a copycat since Susan already selected Second Life but, after looking at many of the other Web 2.0 applications listed on Go2Web.net, I really felt that I would get the most from Second Life. We already incorporate blogger.com and pbwiki.com into our courses so, selecting these tools would be the easy way out. :)
In the meantime, I have created a blog but I couldn't find where to post it in our Moodle. I will document my journey at the blog: http://epedagogy.blogspot.com. Feel free to join me.

I am enjoying SL more now that I have had several EUREKA moments. In fact, I am organizing a proposal for Centenary College to adopt an island, create a replica, and incorporate recruiting efforts as well as student services for our remote students.
I have tried to encourage one of my classes to let us experiment with SL in class but the students rebelled and decided that they have enough of cyber-reality...they'd prefer to see my face in front of the podium each week. *sigh*
